Avevo bisogno di impegnarmi in qualcosa in un periodo in cui dormivo poco dopo il Terremoto.
Le macchinette le avevo, il tempo anche troppo, l’insonnia non mancava.
La vecchia drum machine a 120 bpm e il Korg che arpeggiava uguale, un paio di microfoni,
qualche bassone un po’ wave e una scheda audio spedita dal Vomero a cui ho collegato le altre cose.
Così ho iniziato questo taglia-cuci-copia-incolla e son saltati fuori 7 pezzi mezzi dance e mezzi
no, con dentro tutta la stanchezza, le delusioni e le speranze che ho voluto smettere di tenere
per me. Goodbye Horses e’ questa cosa qua. Io ho aggiunto solo un po’ di riverbero. Tanti miei amici ci han messo passione e costanza.Tutti assieme abbiamo messo tutto quanto in Unwanted, un disco fatto a strati, come la Terra, che quando trema ti fa pensare e dormire poco. Ma anche ballare.”
Goodbye Horses è il progetto solista di Mirco Chiavelli (Sex Offenders Seek Salvation, Maybe
Happy ed altre band locali nate tra la bassa mantovana e il modenese), presenza fissa al
Barchessone Vecchio, nonché buon amico di Bob Corn. La produzione artistica di rifinitura è stata
affidata al mantovano Luciano Ermondi (Tempelhof). Oltre ai due nomi appena citati sopra
compare Any Other (il nuovo progetto di Adele Nigro, ex Lovecats) alla voce nel brano che dà il
titolo al lavoro. Sette canzoni intime e ballabili da condividere con gli amici di sempre e non solo.

“I had never thought about having a solo project.
I just needed to be busy in a period when I used to sleep few hours per night, after the earthquake.
I already had the machines, abundance of time and insomnia as well.
An old s drum machine at 120 bpm, a Korg with a synchronized arpeggiator,a couple of microphones, some good wave basses. All this stuff connected to an audio card sent to me from Naples.
So I started this cut-and-paste project and at the end I had 7 tracks which are half-dance, half
something else. Inside them, weariness, delusions, hopes. Basically everything I decided not to
keep for myself. That’s what Goodbye Horses is.
I’ve just added some reverberation, while many friends of mine put a lot of passion and resolution
in it. All of us put all these things in Unwanted, an album layered like the earth, that keeps you awake
when it trembles, but makes you dance as well.”
Goodbye Horses is Mirco Chiavelli’s solo project (Sex Offenders Seek Salvation, Maybe Happy and
other local bands, emerged between Mantua and Modena). Constant presence at Barchessone Vecchio and one of Bob Corn’s close friends, for this project he entrusts the artistic and refining production to the Mantuan Luciano Ermondi (Tempelhof).
Many collaborations have been realized. In addition to the above mentioned, Any Other (Adele
Nigro’s new extolled project – former Lovecats) is present with a track which entitles the entire
work. Seven intimate and dancing songs you can share with your close friends or with the new
ones, which are able to emphasize a deep melancholic mood, peeping out through stratifications
and easy pop refrains.
